Who We Are

Tamarindo Surf School is the first of its kind founded in Costa Rica. The unique teaching method used by founder Manuel Mignemi is based on experience and knowledge acquired over years of study and surfing. Manuel has a degree in Motion Science and is specialized in teaching and sports psychology. He now teaches people how to surf and improve their surfing full time!!

Tamarindo has an international feel. It is a meeting point for surfers and non-surfers from around the world. The Tamarindo Surf School brings together instructors from five different countries with a wealth of surfing and teaching experience and range of teaching techniques. This is one of the reasons why our approach is simple, enthusiastic and more than anything else: innovative. We guarantee that you will stand up and surf your first waves in just one lesson!! If you don't, the second lesson is free. We offer you not only our extensive experience and knowledge of surf conditions in the area, but the best surfboard rental services and our surf school lessons for all levels.

Our location allows for fast access to famous beaches like Avellanas, Playa Grande and Playa Negra. We also have trips available for experienced surfers who seek great adventures at the world renown Roca Bruja "Witch Rock" and Ollie’s Point.
